Administration & Support Services

Sue Norrish- Administrator / Information Officer
Hello, my name is Sue Norrish and I'm the Administrator at Five Wishes Children's Centre. I have recently relocated from Devon to Wiltshire and have been working here since January 2009.

I register the children and families who come to the Centre, promote and advertise the activities that we run, keep up-to-date information on the local area, take room bookings and co-ordinate the Toy Library. The Centre has a free of charge public laptop for you to access the Job Centre Plus website or other child friendly websites. I am more than happy to help should you require assistance - please ring me if you would like some help.

I enjoy meeting the families and children and like to get involved in the activities and events that we run. I have a good understanding of forces life and accommodation and can relate to these difficulties.

Caroline Hatton- Play Worker

Hi my name is Caroline, I started working as a Playworker at Five Wishes Children's Centre at Amesbury in February 2009, mainly running Stay and Play Sessions and Creches.

I was born at Tidworth Military Hospital and raised on army camps in England and Germany up to the age of 13.

Bringing up my three children has given me the obvious hands-on experience of looking after children, albeit my main career to date is one of a self employed hairdresser after training at Salisbury College.

I have always embraced the opportunity of working with children, examples of which are: -

  • Childminding a boy with learning difficulties.
  • Jointly setting up and running a toddler group in Laverstock, Salisbury, two years as treasurer then joint chairperson.
  • Fund raising for a Pre-school and School Parent Association.
  • Helping reading as school helper in Primary School.

Gabrielle Denton- Playworker

Hi my name is Gabbie, I am a Playworker. I moved here last August. My background was originally working for MOD as Executive Officer. I have experience of working with all three Services and I lived in Germany for 6 years with the Army.

My involvement with children started when I ran a toddler group for two years as a volunteer, then I became a Childminder and I ran a Tumbling Tot Group for three years, for steady walkers to two years old. I also worked as bank Playgroup Leader for MOD. I have worked with children with additional needs. I worked for Adult Education and Family Learning as a Creche Supervisor.

I have an NVQ 3 in Childcare and GCSE in Child Psychology as well as other basic child care qualifications in First Aid and Food Safety.

As a Playworker I run Stay 'n' Play, creches for various parenting courses and to support the Outreach Workers when required. Ultimately our aim is to provide a positive experience and service for you and your child. I look forward to meeting you.

return to top Outreach Team

Donna Dudman- Outreach Worker
I have been working for Action for Children since September 2007. I am now based at Five Wishes Children's Centre in Amesbury.

As an Outreach Worker my role is to work alongside families with children under the age of five who live and around the Amesbury area. I provide support and link to the Centre to assist families in the early years of their child's development.

I trained to be a Nursery Nurse twelve years ago and have worked with children in a variety of settings since. Recently, I updated my knowledge on children and families by completing a Higher National Certificate in Early Childhood Studies.

Through my experiences of working with children and their families I have come across many challenges which parents face when bringing up young children. I want to use this knowledge and information to benefit other families.
